Amazon is treating AI like cloud computing with AWS, as foundational infrastructure and architectural lock-in at scale.
When you build critical government systems on a single vendor's infrastructure, their AI services, their supercomputing, their compliance frameworks, you're making a 10-15 year bet. Not a 2-year bet.
The technology is solid. Amazon's Nova models and Bedrock are genuinely useful. But infrastructure decisions at this scale aren't about the tech specs, they're about optionality and future negotiations especially when requirements shift.
